Although Bundi now features on the traveller map, it attracts far less tourists than various grander Rajasthan cities. Most importantly, Bundi has not been transformed by tourism so visitors will be rewarded by a genuine experience in this authentic gem of a town. It’s also worth a mention that Bundi has the best chai in India – seek out Krishna’s Chai Stall and taste for yourself.
Bundi is a magical, ancient city surrounded by forts and an awesome hill top palace with notoriously aggressive monkey guards.
Taking a stroll around the maze of narrow back streets revealed wonderful surprises around each and every corner. The highly ornate Brahmin-blue washed buildings of the old town, alleyways filled with excitable children wearing huge smiles and craftsmen in tiny workshops, we were surrounded by colour and intrigue resulting in some of our most inspired and captivating images of India.
